About Jack
Jack William Smith is a British artist living in Barcelona. He especially loves painting water and is best known for his paintings of the male figure by the sea.
Originally trained in architecture before devoting himself fully to art, Jack's work combines both structure and spontaneity.
His work often captures the feeling of summer, with loose, swirling movements that give his paintings a dreamlike quality. Working across evolving palettes, from restrained blues to richer greens, he draws inspiration from the Impressionists while continually refining his own visual language.
Jack has exhibited in nearly 50 exhibitions across Europe, including Oxford, London, Berlin, Munich, Madrid, and Barcelona and continues to explore the depiction of the male body by the sea, a subject through which he reflects on ideas of freedom and vitality.
